The municipality of Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage is located approximately 30 minutes from Quebec City. In 2008, Innoventé purchased a drying plant, built in the early 2000s. Now operational, this plant has been adapted to incorporate our biodrying technology and can produce more than 25,000 tons of biofuel annually. Once the combined heat and power plant is functional in December 2012, more than 30,000 tons of greenhouse gases will be eliminated annually by using biofuels to replace fossil fuels.
Hydro-Quebec recently awarded Innoventé a 25-year power purchase agreement, valued at $175M, to produce electricity from our CHP plant at Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage. This full-size operational plant will serve as the model for future installations in Canada, the U.S. and world-wide.
